Finding good tools to help with link building, analyzing stats, and finding good keywords is essential to having a successful website. There are several very handy tools that seasoned webmaster use daily when focusing on their website. These tools are all free, and will give you a leg up on your competition.
The problem is that many webmaster know about these tools, but don’t use them to their full potential. This list is by no means complete, but it will give you a good idea of tools you can use to your advantage.
1. Google Webmater Tools- Google is the #1 search engine in the worlds, and they offer a nice selection of tools. The webmaster tools can help you see errors on your site, see site links, upload sitemaps, see crawl stats, etc. Of course you need to verify your website but its a simple process google walks you through. This tool is a must.
2. Google Analytics – Google analytics is like webmaster tools on steroids. This tool allows you to drill down info about your site and look at things like: Keywords, Traffic sources, visitor information, visitor location, landing pages, exit pages, and much much more. This is hands down the best free resource for learning about your website.
3. Google Insights – This is a very under used tool for webmaster. This tool allows you to check the actual search volume of keywords dating back to 2004.
